A woman who was raped after being preyed upon on a night out in London has said she was left feeling the attack was her fault as she was wearing a short dress.
The victim – who cannot be named – made the heartbreaking statement as her attacker was jailed for seven year.
Salah Koubar, 20, threw his victim over railings at West Dulwich Station before dragging her into bushes and raping her.
The attack was only stopped after a passer-by found the woman running along the platform wearing only a t-shirt and knickers.
The victim met Koubar at Freedom Bar in Soho, central London, where he promised to take her to another venue called VIP in Westminster.
Koubar tricked her into taking a bus leaving central London, and took her phone away when she realised she was going in the wrong direction.
After promising they would catch another bus to the venue, they got off at West Dulwich Station where the attack began.
A sentencing hearing at Blackfriars Crown Court was read a victim impact statement in which the woman said she had been forced to overcome feelings of guilt following her horrific ordeal.
She said: “I trusted him. I had no romantic intention with him at all.
“He betrayed my trust. I was really scared when he was doing what he was doing.
“I thought he might kill me because of his action and power. If a member of the public had not come to help me he could have done more.
“I was wearing a short dress and thought I was looking attractive and pretty.
“After the attack I felt it was my fault as I was wearing a short dress. I do not feel pretty anymore.”
