Nguyen founded Rise after experiencing first-hand the broken rape survivor justice system. Rise worked to write, and implement, the Sexual Assault Survivors’ Bill of Rights, which passed through Senate in September, and was signed into law in October to protect victims rape kits, and other necessities. Before leading Rise full time, she would squeeze it in before and after her day job, serving as the Deputy White House Liaison for U.S. Department of State. She is training to become an astronaut.
