In her new book, My Life as Eva, and a video to go along with it, Eva Gutowski opens up about being sexually assaulted. She reveals she was raped when she was 16 years old, chronicling the flurry of hospital tests, police interviews and therapy appointments that followed when the police found out about her attack. In addition to showing those who have not been sexually assaulted what kind of impact rape can have on a victim, Eva wanted to show other victims that there are ways to cope with their assault. In her video, Eva says that through her experience with some bananas in a grocery store that gave her a newfound inspiration to take all of life’s brown bananas and make a delicious banana bread
